21 Cellars specializes in both old-world and highly innovative winemaking techniques. We strive to produce the finest limited production wines.

Origins of 21 Cellars

21 Cellars is an urban boutique winery located in the North End of Tacoma, Washington. Since inception in 2003, Winemaker Philip Coates has dedicated his efforts to producing wines of extraordinary quality; implementing both traditional and highly innovative winemaking techniques. Committed to preserving the foundations of winemaking, 21 Cellars strives to handcraft the finest limited production Washington wines. We take pride in showcasing the finest characteristics of Washington’s premier grape growing regions.

Katrina Lange joined 21 Cellars in 2011 as Assistant Winemaker.

Support and accolade has fueled the recent progress of 21 Cellars. In 2010, we expanded our offerings with the release of our first white wine and a Bordeaux-style blend. We continue to expand our selection, with Washington Malbec, Tempranillo and Merlot on the horizon. Having our 2006 Pont 21 Cabernet Sauvignon named one of the Top Ten New Washington Wines by Seattle Magazine (August 2011) is an exciting honor. With this award and our fan-base, 21 Cellars is proud to help Tacoma contribute to the growing popularity of Washington wine.

We are pleased you are interested in 21 Cellars and hope you will join us in support of our endeavor.
